Can I freeze my diluted ICC (internal cannabis control, SKU 420337) and re-use?

Yes, the 1:50k dilution of the ICC can be frozen and thawed multiple times and re-used.

The Internal Cannabis Control (ICC) is a synthetic cannabis DNA template that is used with the following products:

SKU: 420518 PathoSEEK® 5-Color Aspergillus Multiplex - AriaMx with MaGiC Lysis Kit For NON Flower Matrices ONLY
SKU: 420519 PathoSEEK® 5-Color Aspergillus Multiplex - CFX with MaGiC Lysis For NON Flower Matrices ONLY
SKU:  420523 PathoSEEK® 2-Color Aspergillus Multiplex with MaGiC Lysis For NON Flower Matrices ONLY
SKU: 420517 PathoSEEK® Salmonella & STEC E. coli Multiplex Detection Assay with MaGiC Lysis Kit For both Flower and Non Flower Matrices

A 1:50k or 1:5k (chocolate samples) dilution of the ICC must be prepared from the stock tube and spiked into all samples previous to the MaGiC lysis step.   DNA is known to degrade more readily at lower concentrations when frozen and thawed multiple times.  We tested a 1:50k dilution of the ICC through 24 freeze thaw cycles over a 30 day period and observed very little impact on resulting Cq value.  The resulting HEX Cq values were between 25 and 27, well within the acceptable value of <35.

When using a frozen diluted aliquot if ICC, let it completely thaw, vortex and quick spin before using.  Place back at -20°C when complete.
