How to Prepare Virus Controls When Using Singleplex Controls

When the virus multiplex control is not available, you have single controls on hand, or only one control is needed, follow this procedure.

  1. For the positive control(s), transfer 1 µL of each control into 7 µL of water
  2. It’s only necessary to use the positive controls for the viral targets of interest – make sure the final volume of the positive control dilution is 10 µL
  3. For the negative control, use water (found in the kit).
Note: It is best to add the largest volume reagent first, in this case H2O.
