Are there routine maintenance requirements for the Myra?
The Bio Molecular Systems (BMS) MYRA has minimal routine maintenance requirements. The two primary recommended maintenance activities are:
- HEPA filter replacement
- Pipette head calibration and accuracy certification
The frequency of these maintenance activities should be determined by your laboratory’s internal procedures, quality system, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Pipette Head Calibration
One advantage of the MYRA is its detachable pipette head, which allows the pipette head to be sent to Bio Molecular Systems for calibration and accuracy certification without shipping the entire instrument.
To arrange calibration, contact Bio Molecular Systems and provide the serial number of the pipette head. BMS will provide the appropriate shipping materials and a shipping label so the pipette head can be sent to their facility in Australia.
Once received by BMS, the calibration process typically takes approximately one week. Total turnaround time will vary depending on shipping and transit times.
Loaner Pipette Heads
To minimize instrument downtime, laboratories may have the option to rent a loaner pipette head while their pipette head is being calibrated. This allows the MYRA to remain in operation during the calibration process.
